Most Irish-American families have been in the states for countless generations.  They take pride in their distant heritage, showing off their family crests and dedicating parades and holidays to their stereotypical boorishness and drinking habits. Heigertach is a playful jab at the “weird pride” of Irish-Americans, but also embraces the odd and proud culture that they have created.
